Seeing, Feeling, and Sending
This message challenges us to see people through the lens of Christ's compassion rather than our own human limitations. Drawing from Matthew 9:36-38, we're reminded that Jesus looked upon the multitudes and was moved with compassion because they were like sheep without a shepherd. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. This isn't just a call for professional ministers—it's a call for every believer to recognize that we are all laborers in God's field. The message confronts our tendency to avoid certain people or situations that make us uncomfortable, reminding us that every person represents a soul in need of Jesus. Through the compelling story of Emmanuel Green, a man transformed from alcoholism to passionate gospel witness, we see the life-changing power of simply sharing what Jesus has done for us. We don't need theological degrees or perfect knowledge—we just need to know our own story of salvation and be willing to share it. The challenge is clear: will we step out of our comfort zones to reach the Emmanuel Greens in our communities? Will we see people as Jesus sees them, feel what He feels, and be motivated to action? The reminder is sobering yet hopeful—almost half the people in many communities have never heard the gospel, even in the Bible Belt. Our neighborhoods, workplaces, and daily interactions are mission fields waiting for laborers who will simply say yes to God's call.
