Battle Every Day

This message confronts us with a truth we often try to avoid: the Christian life is a daily battle. Drawing from Romans 7:15-20, we're invited to explore Paul's honest confession about the inner war between our desire to follow God and our tendency to sin. The passage reveals something profound—even the great apostle Paul struggled with doing what he hated and failing to do what he knew was right. This isn't a sign of spiritual failure; it's evidence that the Holy Spirit is actively working within us. The sermon challenges the world's narrative of 'follow your heart' and 'believe in yourself,' reminding us that Jeremiah 17:9 declares our hearts are deceitful. Without Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). The message walks us through the reality that mature believers face the same battles as new believers, pointing to biblical heroes like Noah, David, Jonah, and Peter—all flawed men who needed God's restoration. But here's the hope: Romans 8:1 declares there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The struggle is real, our flesh is weak, but through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, victory is certain. We're encouraged to stop relying on willpower and start pursuing Christ with the intensity of those who followed Him everywhere during His earthly ministry.
